Ways you can work with me

  • making in therapy is a tool for communication and exploration. It allows us to give our feelings form, colour, texture and more, and focuses on the process of making rather than the outcome.

    Sessions can look like…

1:1 sessions can look different from one week to the next, however, they often follow a loose structure which begins with a check-in chat and grounding exercise. Then, we’ll get creative, through art making, movement or some other way that feels right, and explore what feels important to you that day. We’ll have some space to reflect on the process together before we finish. Depending on what you need that day, I may guide you through a creative exercise, or we might allow the creative process to unfold organically.

    What materials will I need?

In my sessions creativity shows up in many forms - drawing, mark-making, movement, writing, talking, singing, sitting, breathing, using natural objects… We’ll find methods that work for you, regardless of whether you have any creative experience or not. I support the people I work with to make art in ways that FEELS good, rather than look good.

Online sessions can be accessed in many ways - through zoom, by phone, email or even instant message. Sessions last 1 hour and take place weekly.

    Cost: £50/€55

  • I offer professional consultations for those who would like to chat about becoming an Art Therapist, or would like to know more about my perspective on growing on an Art Therapy Practice. These are 1 hour long and take place via zoom.

    Cost: £40/€45

  • My current home is Gijon, Northern Spain. This beautiful little city offers rich, versatile landscapes for us to explore together through outdoor Art Therapy sessions. I have chosen a few locations around the city which offer enough space from the crowds to provide some privacy, are near shelter incase the weather turns on us and are close to public bathrooms.

Strengthening our relationship with the outdoors is necessary for our own care as and care of the planet.

Outdoor sessions may follow a similar format to online sessions (see above) however they also offer us the chance to deepening our connection to the place. As well as using art mterials, shells, sticks and other found objects can be used to create images of our inner worlds.

If you're just visiting Gijon, and are interested in outdoor Art Therapy, please get in touch. Depending on your needs, I may be able to provide a one-off session for you.

Cost: £50/€55 - sessions are in English and art materials can be provided for you.

What’s next?

If you’re interested in working with me, get in touch! I offer an initial consultation which is free of charge, and lasts about 20 minutes. This should give us an idea of whether we might be a good fit.

If we are a good fit, I will then ask you to commit to a minimum of 6 sessions. This is because it takes time to settle into therapy and for both of us to get to know someone new.
